Exchanging foreign curency for US dollars should be convenient but expensive. Remember that you will not need much cash outside the puzzle party: most merchants accept credit cards, and if you fly into Logan airport then you will not have to pay for ground transportation to the hotel. If you have not paid in advance, then you will have to pay for registration in US dollars. You may also want to pay for puzzles in US currency. (If you are trying to stick to a budget, it may help to buy in advance as many dollars as you are planning to spend on puzzles.) Here are some options for getting cash:

  • Exchange currency before leaving home.
  • Get US dollars from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM).
  • Go to a currency-echange booth in Logan airport.
  • Go to a bank in the city of Boston.
  • Use the hotel's front desk.
If you plan to use a credit card or an ATM, check with your bank before leaving home to see what fees, if any, they charge for currency conversion. An ATM may charge a fee independent of your own bank; read the signs carefully. There are ATM's in Terminals A, B, C, and E at Logan airport, and a branch of Bank of America. There are Travelex Foreign Exchange booths in Terminals A, B, C, and E.
