The Yoshigahara Award

(revised Fall 2005)

The Yoshigahara Award will recognize individuals who have made a significant lifetime contribution to mechanical puzzles. The award will be considered annually, and a trophy designed by Gary Foshee will be presented to each winner as part of the IPP Awards Ceremony. Everyone on the IPP invitation list is eligible to submit a nomination for this award.

At IPP24, Jerry Slocum announced the Yoshigahara Award, with an emphasis on contribution to "puzzle design excellence." In the spirit of Nob's diverse contributions to the world of puzzles, we felt that the original guidelines were too restrictive. Thus, we want to emphasize that the Yoshigahara Award will recognize contributions of all types, including but not limited to mechanical puzzle design, publication, manufacturing, and promotion.
