The Yoshigahara Award will recognize individuals who have made a significant lifetime contribution to mechanical puzzles. The award will be considered annually, and a trophy designed by Gary Foshee will be presented to each winner as part of the IPP Awards Ceremony. Everyone on the IPP invitation list is eligible to submit a nomination for this award. At IPP24, Jerry Slocum announced the Yoshigahara Award, with an emphasis on contribution to "puzzle design excellence." In the spirit of Nob's diverse contributions to the world of puzzles, we felt that the original guidelines were too restrictive. Thus, we want to emphasize that the Yoshigahara Award will recognize contributions of all types, including but not limited to mechanical puzzle design, publication, manufacturing, and promotion. NominationsAs a member of the IPP invitation list, we encourage you to nominate a candidate for this award. Your nomination may be brief, but please explain why you believe that candidate is deserving of this honor. Please submit your nomination by June 15, 2006 to any member of the Award Committee below. Please note that committee members are not eligible for this award.
